..is religious iconography is inspiring me more than i thought..

new project, new brief and i've pretty much been told to research certain areas for inspiration, one being religious images. a particular type of religious art has always stood out to me, from seeing it in my favourite film romeo and juliet to seeing it settled in among the weird and wonderful at shepherd's bush market, i can see this turning into something beautiful and thought provoking.

for this project it's all about draping on the stand, taking it off and translating into patterns. pretty excited to be honest! i will have to post my work to date soon! got a photo shoot coming up this week so will make an effort to remember and also blog more! so good to get my thoughts out that isn't through a facebook status update.

is how to make a tailored jacket from scratch..

                                                

Well the past three weeks have been some of madness to say the least. As the title indicates, the first project since the pathway divide, us "innovators" were given the wonderful task of being taught how to construct a tailored jacket from nothing. After fighting with patterns, wrong size collars and well every other layer that they feel is necessary in the bloody thing.. but today even with it being Friday 13th I have completed it to a high standard and well if I could blow my own trumpet I would!

Now on to the next task of coming up with my own designs and constructing another jacket in any style and colour I wish! So excited to be creative with this. 

My main inspiration so far has been this picture from Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band, love the vibrant colours, metallic details and well overall fun they are having with their outfits.. Just got to have a major think about how i can incorporate this within my final designs and sketches.
